Design Ideologies
To achieve the incredible performing High Fidelity range of speakers, Audio Dynamics teamed up with U.S. speaker engineer Dan Wiggins, an absolute master of his craft. With several patents under his belt during his almost half century tenure, Dan has designed speakers for fortune 500 companies, top quality PA systems, recording engineer’s reference speakers in top studios around the world and high-end microphones used by Grammy award winning musicians. He also personally knows Wolfgang Klippel and was tasked with setting up the very first Klippel in the world!
Striving To Break Barriers
The high fidelity H1 tweeter is a high stroke, low distortion multi-layer fabric dome 1″ / 25 mm tweeter. This tweeter features exceptionally high stroke to allow lower crossover points without compression.
Split Gap Design
The H1 tweeter features a split-gap design which provides +/- 1.4 mm of linear excursion, approximately five to six times that of most other tweeters. The result is a wider operational bandwidth as low as 1500 Hz; and distortion reduced by up to a factor of four.
Splendid Dome
The H1 uses a specially developed dome material. The dome’s fabric is a lamination of silk, polyester and cotton; thence treated with a proprietary compound to unify the layers but allow each to provide their own unique benefits. Silk adds the stretch / pull basic mechanical strength, polyester provides rigidity of shape and the cotton provides improved damping.
Chamberless Goodness
The H1 does not use a rear chamber to lower its resonance. Instead, a larger roll surround provides a lower resonance of the driver. This design allows for higher stroke, as well as a full-range output down to 1500 Hz. By removing the rear chamber, resonances from that chamber are eliminated. The elimination of the rear chamber results in an 7/16″ / 11.2 mm mounting depth for freedom of positioning.
Protective Grille
The H1 comes with an integrated chemically etched steel grille featuring an anti-resonant hole-pattern with size of opening optimized for dispersion.
Rock-Solid Body
The H1 features a threaded rear body and a large diameter ABS nut for securing it to panels up to 3/8″ / 9.5 mm thick. Also included is a 45 degree surface cup and metal bridge mount to accommodate every type of installation scenario.
