Master Series – Accuracy Beyond Astounding
Not everyone is looking to be hammered into submission. On the contrary there’s an echelon of discerning audiophiles who desire supreme sound quality above all else. Articulated deep bass, delectably controlled midrange, and supremely accurate highs. Barriers are there to be broken, and budget is of secondary concern. This is the territory of the superb Master series from Audio Dynamics. Developed with every detail heavily scrutinised; the Master drivers are as close to aural perfection and can be found.

Calling Upon The Big Guns
To achieve this, Audio Dynamics teamed up with a leading speaker engineer who is an absolute master of his craft. With several patents to his name, during his tenure he’s designed speakers for fortune 500 companies, top quality PA systems, recording engineer’s reference speakers in some of the top studios around the world and designed many a high-end microphones; many of which are used by Grammy award winning musicians. He also personally knows Wolfgang Klippel and was tasked with setting up the very first Klippel testing in the world.

The Little Wonder
The Master series M1 tweeter is a 1″ / 25.4 mm wideband, high stroke, low distortion multilayer fabric dome driver. This tweeter features exceptionally high stroke to allow lower crossover points without compression.

Excursion Aplenty
The M1 tweeter features a split-gap design which provides +/- 1.6 mm of linear excursion, approximately five to six times that of most other tweeters. The result is a wider operational bandwidth, as low at 1500 Hz; with distortion reduced by up to a factor of four.

Specially Developed Dome
The M1 tweeters use a specially developed dome material. The dome’s fabric is a lamination of silk, polyester and cotton which has been treated with a proprietary compound to unify the layers but allow each to provide their own unique benefits. Silk adds the stretch / pull basic mechanical strength, polyester provides rigidity of shape; while cotton provides improved damping.

Rear Chamber Excellence
The M1 tweeters don’t use a rear chamber to lower their resonance. Instead, a larger roll surround provides a lower resonance of the driver. This design allows for higher stroke as well, for full-range output down to 1500 Hz. And by removing the rear chamber, resonances from that chamber are eliminated. The elimination of the rear chamber results in an shallow mounting depth for freedom of positioning.

Etched Grille
The M1 tweeters come with chemically etched steel grilles featuring an anti-resonant hole-pattern with size of opening optimised for dispersion. The grille is mounted to the main tweeter with a friction-fit gasket ensuring vibration-free operation and eliminating visible screws.
