With their ultra-technical topology, sleek lines, astoundingly accurate sound and enormous power output; Focal's FPX range of amplifiers have the gumption to keep up with every aspect of your pride and joy.

Design Ideologies
When first designing the FPX amplifiers, Focal faced some difficult challenges. It needed big power, far more than models of the past. It also required glowing performance specifications to keep at top of its game. These goals however are difficult to achieve without encountering issues pertaining to thermal dynamics, serious current requirements and enormous footprints. The answer was to employ special switching technology in their fundamental design, but with that special Focal touch. This vastly improved topology reduced the need for titanic heat dissipation by making them ultra-efficient without sacrificing any musicality. Their physical dimensions are impressive too, for despite all FPX amplifies able to output titanic levels of power their dimensions remain that of a thin house brick.

Design Features
For an amplifier to provide high power and musicality, efficiency and heat dissipation are two essential qualities. To optimise these aspects the FPX amplifiers have been designed with a serious aluminium chassis. The distribution of the components on the motherboard was also carefully researched to optimise the cooling capacity of the chassis. The careful selection of components such as switching power supply, oversized toroidal transformers, high-quality capacitors and so on; these have all made it possible to create powerful but ultra-compact amplifiers offering excellent musicality without compromise.

The FPX5.1200 is an impressive platform to behold. That said though, power isn’t the only attractive aspect. Other features include:
