Design Ideologies
The Mosconi One components raise the amplification bar to more lofty heights. The goal of their development was to create uncomplicated, universal amplifiers with very good sound and dynamics. With various channels, various classes, processed and unprocessed, flexible inputs, the One range also easily provide the initial spark for high fidelity audio even with factory head units.
Intelligent Design
The switchable inputs with balanced OP-amps are natively compatible with all common head units, whether they be outputting high level or low level; as they simulate a connected loudspeaker with dummy load resistors. Low-threshold remote detection and stabilised gate supply eliminate all problems with start/stop vehicles.
Goal Achieved
In terms of sound and their aural signature, the One range represent that typical Italian sound. Their sound is round in the high frequencies, smooth in the vocal range and ultra powerful in the bass. As a result the One range is a bestseller and the backbone of many a complete system.
Switching Methodology
The eight channel 90.8 DSP is a unit build for flexibility. Uncompromising in design, aside from its eight main AB class power channels it also includes an integrated ten channel digital sound processor. Not only does it process all internal channels, it also includes processed outputs and pass-through channels. This gives you control over almost all imaginable system configurations possible.
Design Features
Although all the One series amplifiers are unique in their own right; they do share various technologies too. We canvas these below.
Keeping Things On The Cool
All One series amplifiers are equipped with cooling fans located strategically upon the main board. These take the air from the amplification components before flowing it over the electronic circuits thence expelling it from specific grilles arranged upon the top sides of the amplifier. This system prevents excessive internal temperatures and evenly cools the heat sink and internals, removing heat from the hot parts withing the topology. The fan is controlled electronically by a microprocessor depending on the temperature when in operation. The fan first starts at low speed at lower temperatures however if environmental conditions and high power increase the amplifiers internal temperature it will run at full speed until the thermal protection kicks, which is a threshold difficult to reach. In doing this the amplifier enjoys a significant reduction in disturbance caused by the movement of the fan.
Bedrock Solid Casing
The case is modeled in such a way as to enjoy the best of both strength and thermal efficiency worlds. It’s a die-cast aluminium affair featuring two primary lengths of extruded aluminium. Upon these lengths the power transistors are set using cap screws. This ensures good heat conduction by distributing it throughout the heat sink fins. The large cap screws and beautiful topology are clearly visible through the mesh top vents.
Modular Architecture
The One series amplifiers are built with a modular distancing structure. The signal control circuits are separated from the power supply and power signals. In doing this Mosconi avoid any possible interference to the signal. Furthermore it was able to install circuit board wiring of large gauge in order to withstand high current loads.
Ergonomics
Ergonomics is another important feature. The control panels are located along one end for easy adjustments. The power blocks are upon the opposite end, thus keeping them as far from the control circuitry as possible. On the input side of operation the unit has RCA input connections about to accept either low voltage or high voltage. These inputs are equipped with an automatic sensing remote and an input for external volume control is also present via a small port.
