Design Ideologies
When it comes to designing new ranges the mantra within Xcelsus is pretty straightforward; to always introduce new ideas and push the boundaries of what is possible in car audio component design. No matter whether you’re talking splits, coaxials, subwoofers or amplifiers; Xcelsus engineers leave no stone unturned when designing. No idea is too strange to experiment with, given its in it’s quest for the most natural sounding audio gear. Ranges like the Ultra series continually evolve, drawing upon chief designer Dawid Koniarsk’s thirty-five years of component design experience in order to always be improving.
Design Features
The rich heritage of this astute and masterful designer, together with its ever-increasing technical acumen; is conducive to these components featuring a vast array of impressive design ideologies and latest technological advancements, some of these we canvas below.
Perfect Subsonic Technology
The Ultra Altum subwoofers were designed as the perfect subsonic solution when you’re looking to upgrade your car audio system. With a more efficient and precise motor structure; these units are capable of very powerful and accurate bass reproduction.
To Port Or Not To Port
A question commonly fielded here is whether to run these subwoofers sealed or ported enclosure? For some the decision is hard but for others the question is not even worth considering, whether you’re a rusted on sealed or ported fan. Although capable of running most competently in either; the Ultra Altum subwoofers tend to gravitate towards a sealed enclosure.
Size Flexibility
The Ultra Altum subwoofers come in various sizes, all having a similar dual 4 Ohms resistance configuration. This makes them extremely easy to wire up by themselves or even when doing multiple woofers at once.
Not Power Hungry
One of the good things about these subwoofers is their fluidly, in that how much power they need to get moving is far removed from what they’re capable of handling. Let us explain. See whilst they’re all rated for serious power levels; they’re also most fluid in their suspension too. This means that they can handle power if you wish to throw it their way without enduring any thermal issues, however they only require modest power levels to get down to boogie too.
Bass Clean Bass
The Ultra Altum subwoofers are capable of bringing out the very best in your favourite music’s lower octaves. They have been designed to perform quick, precise and efficiently; all whilst delivering a forceful kick that a race house would be proud off. Far more than most other subwoofers in their fiscal class.
Strong Materials
These subwoofers feature an extremely rigid but lightweight fibre enforced paper cone woofer. Encircling this is a special profiled parabolic rubber surround. This allows for fluid movement whilst vastly enhancing motor stability in conjunction with the polycotton spider below.
