Audible Physics RAM 6.1 dual-band component speaker set features precisely designed set of two woofers and two tweeters, finely crafted from high quality materials. The tweeters feature the Audible Physics’ patented matrix alloy dome alloy magnesium and aluminum membrane, which enables them to reproduce the traditional Audible Physics sound experience. The woofers deliver even more power thanks to ceramic magnets, powerful motor and rock solid diaphragm design. In this set you will also find high-quality crossovers with the option of bi-ampable wiring. From this system you can expect high-quality sound with precise and top-level detail, impressive full-band performance and distortion-free performance. Like all Audible Physics products, the RAM series speakers are handmade in their own factory.
The Master Enforcer – The RAM 6 Woofers
In the car of the RAM 6 woofer the traditional white membrane is replaced by a matte-silver alloy matrix membrane. Audible Physics engineers report than when working to a modest budget this material is the most suitable for high-faith and accurate sound without compromise. The cone and its coating combination provides for excellent rigidity, with an ability to dampen vibrations and require little power to move due to their lightness. This allows the reproduction of deep and impressive bass while maintaining clean and accurate midrange frequencies. It’s also worth mentioning the exemplary flat frequency response of the midbass, which is one of the common distinguishing features of all Audible Physics speakers.
The RAM 6 boasts increased performance, made possible mainly by its powerful high-quality ceramic magnets and an improved double layer 38.6 mm voice coil. The specially designed cast basket is exceptionally rigid, eliminating vibrations and refraining from deformation when under extreme duress. At the same time, it does not interfere with the magnetic field and its thermal dissipation efficiency is significantly improved. The basket also features generous sized push terminals. In the package you will also find a beautiful designed grilles with a decorative polished edge.
The Mighty Mouse – The RAM 1 Tweeters
The RAM 1 domes are made from Audible Physics patented alloy matrix material, as is the case with the woofer. It is a magnesium and aluminum alloy that offers several advantages, including exceptional high-frequency details, analytically accurate sound and an extremely deep sound stage. These tweeters also provide a near perfect linearity, smooth overall frequency response and almost perfect neutrality. In addition magnesium has great damping properties. So together with the rigid aluminum in the alloy, this alloy significantly reduces distortion and mechanical deformation.
The high-quality 24.4 mm magnet is optimised to achieve better efficiency and improve linearity to ensure perfect power management and increase bandwidth and efficiency. It’s coloured in a similar matte-silver finish to the membrane of the woofer, thus allowing them to form a visually matched system. The tweeter motors reside within precision CNC machined steel housings which can be recess mounted. For this purpose there are fastening rings included in the set.
