Design Ideologies
The Thesis range represents a perfect synergy between technique and emotion. It’s a range that’s dedicated to the most demanding audiophiles. Distinguished by the absolute lack of compromise and the very high technological content, the Thesis designs feature parameters of excellence and utilise components of absolute quality. The Thesis range, highly regarded by experts all over the world; represent a universal reference point for high-end audio. They’re a project of high engineering focused on extraordinary musicality, transparency and naturalness. Put succinctly; Thesis amplifiers are the result when digital technology is perfect integrated with modern analogue powerhouses.
Based On Superior Technology
The Thesis amplifiers build on the expertise developed with the HV Venti, enhanced by modern digital innovation. The result is a seamless integration of high-end analog performance with advanced digital features in a single product. Thanks to Full digital audio high-definition technology, in-car audio reaches a new standard of clarity and precision; combining specialized knowledge in mobile sound reproduction. The Thesis amplifiers are designed for complete flexibility. Their internal microprocessor allows for full control and fine-tuning, making them adaptable to virtually any system configuration.
Design Features
Although unique in their own right; all Thesis amplifiers share various technologies and methodologies. We canvass but a few of these below.
True Dual Mono Topology
Four Synchro-PWM power supplies deliver extremely fast transient current response while enabling a true dual-mono architecture.
Hybrid Output Stage
The HV Venti features a distinctive output stage built around discrete insulated gate bipolar transistors. It uses two Hitachi diffused metal-oxide semiconductors to drive two pairs of complementary Sanken bipolar junction transistors, each capable of 30 Amperes peak current and 200 Watts power dissipation.
A Class Of Its Own
This section is divided into two parts: the front-end pre-amplifier and the control unit. The entire stage is fully balanced through to the driver outputs. It operates on a dedicated 90 V supply for each channel, alongside a separate 150 V thermally stabilised power supply with class A biasing. The input stage is balanced, consisting of a complementary junction field effect transistor differential pair followed by a complementary bipolar junction transistor differential stage. A cascode voltage amplifier, paired with a buffer; ensures optimal drive for the output stage.
Indestructible Chassis
The HV Venti is optimised for efficient heat dissipation; especially when in class A operation. The chassis is made from solid extruded aluminum and precision-machined using CNC technology. A black anodized finish enhances heat transfer through convection and radiation. Internally components and power modules are arranged vertically and mounted outside the main board. This allows for shorter, more efficient signal paths and larger circuit board layouts; improving both power delivery and sound quality.
