Design Ideologies
Eton’s superb HEX 80 is a state-of-the-art 3″ / 80 mm midrange driver designed for sound quality music enthusiasts. It features a hand-coated Hexacone sandwich diaphragm technology, extremely rigid and lightweight at the same time. This ensures ultimate dynamics and fine detail. Voices are reproduced with incredible richness and detail, while the ribbed aluminum phase plug in the center of the speaker ensures maximum stage depth and separation.

Meticulously Designed Phase Plug
The ribbed die-cast aluminum phase plug in the center of the HEX 165 is a real sound performance plus. Thanks to its special design, this phase plug enables sound to be projected well forward of the driver along with free cone movement. This prevents interference in the near range of the cone and supports the incredible imaging accuracy of the HEX 165. The finest details are perfectly separated; creating a transparency and a depth of space that has rarely existed before.

The Motor Within
The high-end voice coil assembly is housed in a torsion-resistant and well-ventilated die-cast aluminum basket and can move centrally and linearly thanks to the symmetrical stranded wire and high-quality suspension. The resilient four Ohm voice coil is powerfully driven by a strong neodymium magnet and, thanks to the additional ventilation in the pole and base plates, it is very well cooled, even at higher levels. The CNC machined pole and base plates round off the look of the new HEX 80 midrange system.

Expanding Ability
The HEX 80 are the logical extension for all HEX 165 and HEX 28 systems, taking the HEX series to a whole new acoustic level! The HEX 80 series is also ideal for other systems; delivering a natural, dynamic and full-sounding sound character with details that are only found in the premier class! Rated power handling is 25 Watts due to it’s extremely lightweight motor structure, its sound pressure level is 86 dB.

Advanced Basket Design
Increased stability with minimal weight, the frame is powder-coated to resist corrosion. It’s physical shape is meticulously designed for maximum heat dissipation and air flow, and vastly reduced mechanical resonance.

Optimsed Cooling System
The T-yoke has been specially designed to absorb and effectively dissipate heat generated by the motor system, flowing a generous zephyr through a large core bore vent and specially designed perimeter ventilation ducts; all without creating any flow noise.

Made In Germany
Eton has been developing and testing loudspeakers for over 35 years. It’s all but perfected the art of loudspeaker design, it’s manufacturing process and developmental acumen playing a central role in this. These loudspeakers were developed and manufactured in Germany and have been subjected to Eton’s strict quality control regime. This guarantees high quality in terms of performance and workmanship.
