Amplifier Series – Combined Power And Sound Quality Improvements
When it comes to getting more from your system you need to remember that speakers are inherently simple devices, in that they’re told exactly what to play. How loud, how accurately; everything. If your music sounds abysmal then you’ll find it’s probably the amplifier struggling and not the speakers per se. This is where the Match plug and play amplifiers play a pivotal role. Not only do they integrate directly into your vehicle to provide far more power, they also offer vastly superior performance specifications. Then there’s the DSP. Friends, what these processors cannot rectify is precisely zero.

Design Ideologies
The UP range of processed amplifiers from Match combine multiple powerful channels of class GD amplification with an integrated multi-channel digital signal processor, delivering power and dynamics for an outstanding high fidelity upgrade while maintaining a clean and OEM friendly integration in the vehicle. In the latest MK2 evolution the UP concept has been further refined, adding key updates like a USB-C port and the Extension Card 2.0 slot for contemporary expandable system integration.

Seamless integration
For optimal integration into existing factory systems, the UP units provide multiple high-level inputs to tap the OEM speaker signals; including ADEP.3 for reliable interfacing with many factory head units. They also include an optical digital input for integrating digital sources. On the output side the UP units offers various numbers of high-power amplified channels. These combine with the multi-channel processing suite to offer nothing short of precise signal processing and flexible sound tuning. All in a compact, space-saving design.

Advanced 32 Bit CoProcessor
The UP series amplifiers are all equipped with a proprietary 32 Bit Advanced CoProcessor platform. This doesn’t just handle all control and communication tasks ultra-fast, it also takes care of a bunch of secondary audio functions too. These include impressive sound effects such as Augmented Bass Processing, RealCenter, Dynamic Loudness Control and Remote Tone Control; in addition to a channel-separated input EQ which includes Advanced Input Signal Analyzer functionality for easy analysis and compensation of input signals of factory radios. In short the CoProcessor equates to maximum performance and flexibility, whilst future-proofing your system architecture. 

DSP PC-Tool 6
The UP series amplifies are easily configured via the professional and exceptionally intuitive DSP PC-Tool 6. The familiar, numerous setting options leave nothing to chance and guarantee an extremely precise sound adjustment even for complex system configurations. Thence thanks to the new proprietary TuneEQ 2.0 system, as well as TuneToTarget functions for automated frequency response correction; you’ll save a lot of time when optimising your sound.

Virtual Channel Processing
The optimal adaptation to existing multi-channel sound systems requires sensible management and configuration of the many processed channels. Especially when front, rear and center systems are split into multi-way systems. Conventional routing concepts quickly reach their limits, both in terms of implementation and usability. The multi-stage Virtual Channel Processing system, in conjunction with the recognised user-friendly DSP PC-Tool software; makes these channels easy to map even highly complex system configurations. Additionally, thanks to its generous number of channels in combination with the optional Extension Card 2.0; the software is perfectly suited to applications where one-to-one routing is required.

Class GD Technology
Audiotec Fischer’s proprietary class GD concept takes the efficiency of conventional class D topology to the next level. By varying the internal supply voltage in several steps depending on the amplifier’s input signals, idle losses are significantly reduced and overall efficiency is close to maximum at all times. This means heat dissipation is almost negligible, thus allowing smallest heat sinks and most compact form factors.

Smart ADEP.3 High-Level Input
Modern factory car radios incorporate sophisticated methods for diagnosing connected speakers. In particular, the latest generation of car radios is equipped with advanced monitoring functions; this can often lead to error messages or the loss of specific features when a standard aftermarket amplifier is connected. The ADEP.3 circuit meets the demands of these advanced factory systems and ensures seamless integration. Controlled by the CoProcessor platform, the system is designed to flexibly adapt to changes in any vehicle’s radio diagnostics. This guarantees maximum compatibility with nearly all factory head units. Without unnecessarily loading the speaker outputs at high volume levels.

Power Save Mode
The Power Save Mode allows to significantly reduce the power consumption of the amplifier and any additional connected amplifiers when no music signal is detected for a certain period of time. When power save mode is active, the internal amplifier stages and the remote output are automatically switched off. Once a music signal is detected again, the device returns to normal operation within approximately two seconds. The switch-off delay can be adjusted or completely deactivated via the DSP PC-Tool software.

Automatic Digital Signal Detection
The amplifier allows signal-controlled switching between the analog inputs and the digital input. As soon as an input signal is detected on the optical input, the amplifier automatically switches to this input. This feature can be deactivated in the DSP PC-Tool software. Alternatively you can use an optional remote control for manual switching between analog and digital inputs.

Start-Stop Capability
The switched power supply ensures a constant internal supply voltage even during short voltage drops down to six Volts, for example during engine starts. Ergo the functionality of the device remains stable and unaffected.

Processing Elements Explained
All Match amplifiers and digital signal processors possess an extraordinary amount of technology. With said technology comes terms and acronyms aplenty. Henceforth we’ll explain some of them further.

TuneEQ
The TuneEQ system is an extremely flexible and particularly easy-to-use function for automated frequency response correction. A single measurement per audio channel or channel pair with a suitable measurement microphone is sufficient for TuneEQ to independently and precisely adjust the equalisers to the desired reference curve. TuneEQ uses the full function set of the parametric equaliser including centre frequency, Q-factor and gain adjustment. And since the highly complex arithmetic operations required for this run in the background, you also save a lot of time when optimising your sound with TuneEQ.

RealCenter
The RealCenter feature is an algorithm developed by Audiotec Fischer that emphasises the music information which is present in both the left and right front channel to create an unique centre signal. In contrast to common procedures, in which only the channels are summed up; the intensity of the centre signal is also dynamically controlled by the stereophonic informational content of the left and right channel.

Sounds complicated but this effect is astonishing. That means if solely the left or right channel delivers an audio signal, the centre channel will not reproduce a signal. In the case of common algorithms the volume level of the centre channel is only reduced by 6 dB. Audiotec Fischer’s RealCenter system allows a unique, broadened sound staging for both driver and co-driver at the same time! Therefore the disadvantages of a conventional center channel such as an intrusive, small sound stage and the like; are all but issues of the past.

Augmented Bass Processing
Audiotec Fischer’s proprietary Augmented Bass Processing consists of the two revolutionary sound features, called Dynamic Bass Enhancement and SubXpander. These have been especially developed to dramatically improve the bass reproduction of subwoofers. The dynamic bass enhancement ingeniously combines maximum deep bass and highest sound pressure regardless of the music style or the tone controls in the head unit. Depending on the input signal, the dynamic bass enhancement gains the lower frequency range and varies the cut-off frequency of the subsonic filter.

The result is a significantly more powerful and deeper bass response at low and medium volume levels without the risk of overloading the subwoofer neither mechanically nor electrically at high volume levels. It is simply fascinating how much subbass performance is suddenly possible. If you want an even lower and darker bass reproduction, the SubXpander functionality can also be activated. In doing this, sub-harmonic tones are added to the fundamental tones in the frequency range between 50 Hz and 100 Hz.
