To that end these components represent the best of the best insofar as handcrafted quality and technical acuity is concerned, representing the pinnacle of MB Quart's advanced engineering philosophies. Designed to excess through a synthesis of technological expertise and advanced materials; the Q drivers are not only sublime in their aural reproduction, the level of satisfaction they're able to provide is hitherto unheard of.

Design Ideologies
MB Quart’s astounding Q series component speakers are designed and manufactured for the purest and most realistic sonic reproduction possible. Attaining this was anything but straightforward, taking MB Quart’s fifty years of design experience to produce some of the best tweeters, midranges and crossovers available at this price point today.

Creating The Sparkle – The Smaller Drivers
The 1” military spec titanium dome tweeter with butyl rubber surround resides in cast aluminium housing, designed specifically dissipate heat for peak thermal performance. Stamped in a nine step progressive die to afford the dome a perfectly consistent shape; the phase lens then aids the design to enhance it’s off-axis performance.

Deep within the labyrinth chamber resides a solid neodymium magnet in a low carbon steel containment cup. This is the strongest magnet that can be used and focuses all the energy onto the voice coil proper. The rear chamber is then damped, designed to tray wayward soundwaves and prevent them from rebounding against the underside of the dome.

Mounting the tweeters is a cinch thanks to numerous mounting cups and plate solutions which are included in the set.

Body Of Evidence – The Larger Drivers
The midrange driver of this set if a work of art; starting with a cone constructed from a lightweight mica filled poly blend for superb strength, superior frequency reproduction and durability. As a result midbass frequencies remain very musical without the distortions that can be caused by usual cone physical deformation. With the curvilinear design the geometry is specifically engineered for best midbass response and off-axis performance.

Attached to the top edge of this is a durable UV protected natural butyl rubber surround. This top half of the suspension offers smooth yet controlled kinetic movement. It’s also thermally treated meaning it’s impervious to temperature swings of very warm and very cold. The spider is a woven fibre cotton poly blend number which works with the surround above to stabilize the cone and voice coil in all types of musical situations and volume demands.

The midranges feature extremely strong die-cast aluminium baskets, designed to be lightweight and extremely rigid. The low-profile form can be easily installed in most factory locations with little or no modification. Eyeballing the motor within said frames a little closer will reveal a 1.5″ high temperature copper voice on Kapton former. The former is lighter and strong than aluminium which allows the component to support a higher frequency extension and efficiency.

The Q series drivers us balanced temperature technology (BTT) throughout every component in this speaker system. The cast aluminium radial sink speaker frame, crossover plate and tweeter frame remove excess heat for predictable long-term performance.

The Brains Behind The Operation – Those Little Boxes
The Q series component systems feature a pair of external audiophile passive crossover networks which serve to apportion the frequencies from the amplifier to each driver correctly. These networks are designed with tight tolerance components with low-loss polypropylene film caps and air wound coils for superb sound quality. 1 % high tolerance metal film resistors which reduces phase shift for better staging and imaging.
