The Evolution Of Audison’s Venerable Voce Range
When it comes to product evolution, the normal modus operandi for Italian audio maestro Audison is one or two ranges per annum. Hence with the SR, Prima and Forza ranges now in the rear-view mirror this masterful engineer turned its attention to the sacrosanct Voce range. Not to say there was anything amiss with the existing Voce stable. But Audison will be Audison; a company that cannot help itself when it comes to improving upon existing technologies.
The byline for the new Voce II range is ‘Giving sound it’s true voice’, and boy has Audison developed some hardware to bring that promise to fruition. Representing a monumental leap forward in car audio innovation, the Voce II range is directly inspired by Audison’s superb flagship Thesis series. So when Audison claim that the Voce II range is ‘born from Thesis excellence’; you can rest assured it’s not just some hastily conjured marketing hype. Indeed every component of the Voce II line has been developed with the same meticulous methodology that made Audison’s Thesis range famous around the world. Employing advanced acoustic simulation software throughout the entire design process, the Voce II components then underwent a rigorous regime of electrical, physical, acoustical and comparative listening tests; both in-lab and in-car. This refinement process ensures that Voce II range delivers uncompromising audio performance, while remaining practical and versatile to satisfy the high-end car audio enthusiast.
Asked recently what the Voce II range stood for, technical director Luca Girotti explained: “Voce II, the second generation of our iconic Voce line of speakers, challenged ourselves to rethink how we design, test and manufacture speakers. We’ve revamped materials, supply chains, assembly techniques and packaging. Our goal was to “unlearn” in order to further innovate, and to “reinforce our expertise” where we knew we were on the right track. This dedication ensures that every aspect of Voce II range not only meets but exceeds the sophisticated demands of today’s car audio enthusiasts.”
